Back bacon can work just as well as pork belly, so choose whichever works best for you.
Curing is a method of preservation, first and foremost, but it’s also how bacon gets its distinct flavouring, combining salts, nitrates, nitrates, sugar, and more. By draining out the moisture and allowing the flavour to seep in, you get that delicious bacon taste. Our seven-step process, outlined in the instruction booklet, will help you get to grips in no time.
With our curing kit, you can delicious, flavourful artisanal bacon ready to serve and to eat in as little as 7 days, though it doesn’t take any longer than 30 minutes to prepare the bacon itself. Most of that time is spent allowing the bacon to fully cure. What’s more, you can re-use the entire kit after you’ve finished with it. The only thing that you need is curing mix, which you can quite easily restock through our store with our refill packs.
