Thousands of people in the UK have taken the Veganuary pledge this month, opting to swap animal products for plant-based options throughout January. Since 2014, Veganuary has inspired and supported more than one million people in 192 countries to try vegan for January – and beyond. In the past, vegan food has got a bad wrap, but more and more people are discovering the vibrant array of options available without meat. This was our inspiration for our own range of plant-based ingredients.
Simple vegan meal ideas
Treating ourselves to a pizza on a Friday night is a no-brainer, but all too often they can be stodgy, greasy and laden with excess fat. Our vegan pizza is none of those things, and as it’s made from scratch you’ll know exactly what’s in it. We’ve generously topped it with flavour-packed roasted veggies and vegan mozzarella, and kept the base crisp and light. The surprise secret ingredient is richly-umami Ross and Ross Roast Dinner Dust, and it takes the flavours to the next level! Find the recipe for our Rustic Roasted Vegetable Pizza here.
We love burgers, and our tempeh and black bean burgers are one of our most popular easy vegan recipes. If you haven’t heard of tempeh before, it’s very similar to tofu. It has a rich and nutty taste that’s perfect for burgers, and despite the name, our Ross and Ross Steak Rub is its perfect partner. Whip up some delicious veggie burgers tonight.
Now that many of us are working from home, we’re plagued by the call of the fridge from about 11 am onwards. The temptation to snack is real and we’re always keen to have a quick vegan meal on hand when our tummies start grumbling. Our Roasted Sweet Potato and Quinoa Salad is sweet and smoky, easy to throw together, delicious warm or cold and packed with goodness. Find out how to make your own Roasted Sweet Potato and Quinoa Salad.
If you’re looking for a wholesome winter warmer to keep away the chill, what could be better than a warming bowl of soup? There’s a huge variety of vegan soups out there, but we’ve got a real soft spot for Roasted Pumpkin, Pepper & Lentil Soup. It’s so creamy that you’ll hardly believe that there’s nothing dairy in there, and you can give it a bit more of a kick with some dried chilli flakes or one of our seasoning dusts. Try a comforting bowl of pumpkin soup.
If you’re looking for more inspiration, Ross and Ross has an entire range of plant-based options. In fact, all of our oils, rubs and seasonings are vegan-friendly.
