BBQ Vegetable Recipes

Grilled Spicy Salad Onions

Ingredients

Method

  1. Light BBQ using British charcoal
  2. Once lit, place the grates directly over the charcoal to heat
  3. Slice onions in half lengthways
  4. Drizzle with Spicy BBQ Oil
  5. Season with Spicy BBQ Salt
  6. Place over the hot coals turning regularly until they have a nice char
  7. Check seasoning, drizzle with a little more oil and serve
  8. Serve as a side dish or as part of a salad
 

Grilled Asparagus and Tender Stem Broccoli

Ingredients

  • 1 x round of local asparagus
  • 1 x bunch of tenderstem broccoli
  • BBQ Oil
  • BBQ Salt
  • British butter

Method

  1. Light BBQ using British charcoal
  2. Once lit, place the grates directly over the charcoal to heat
  3. Remove any woody end from the asparagus and broccoli
  4. Drizzle with BBQ Oil and season well with BBQ Salt
  5. Place over the hot coals turning regularly until they have a nice char but still have a nice bite to them
  6. Toss with butter
  7. Check seasoning and serve
 

Roasted BBQ New Potatoes

Ingredients

  • New Potatoes – we have used Jersey Royals when in season or anything local
  • BBQ Oil
  • BBQ Salt
  • Butter

Method

  1. Light BBQ using British charcoal
  2. Once lit, place the grates indirectly away from the charcoal to gently heat
  3. Parboil the potatoes in salted water for 10 minutes
  4. Drain then toss in BBQ Oil
  5. Place the potatoes onto the grates away from the hot coals to gentle roast away for about 45mins. Have them ticking over while you cook the rest of the BBQ
  6. Then toss in butter and place over the hot coals to crisp up and char slightly
  7. Season and serve
  8. Add some finely chopped parsley, basil, mint and chives as an optional garnish. Most fresh garden herbs work well
