Speciality & Fine Food Fair 2016

This year saw the return of our Ross & Ross exhibit at the Speciality & Fine Food Fair to present our products to potential buyers.

Our brilliant representatives, Ross and Ben, advertised our Homemade Curing Kits and new BBQ products.

We've been planning for this event for quite some time, as this fine food fair opens up opportunities for smaller businesses to expand. Additionally, it's an opportunity to meet other brands, share stories, which may lead to some collaboration in the future. It's truly a worthwhile experience.

Ross and Ben were able to meet a number of people interested in our products, such as The Delightful Deli who ended up finding out more about our BBQ rubs. On social media, our Homemade Curing Kit...Bacon received some attention, with users commending our product saying it was a 'great idea'.

However, it wasn't just our Homemade Curing Kit...Bacon that was a hit at this years Speciality. Ross and Ben were very impressed, and surprised, at some of the products other small companies were presenting.

Products ranged from amazing biscuits, like those by Nila Holden, to dried grasshoppers from Jimini's. The two also sampled pomegranate ketchup by Aphrodites, chocolate covered pork crackling from Owow and duck crackling by Wildings. Ross and Ben also went over to The Wiltshire Chilli Farm's stall to sample some of their products, which they thought were incredible. We'd like to give a special shoutout to Sanjay's Mum from Spice Kitchen UK, who made the most amazing chai!

Another aspect Ben noticed, was a growth in brands specialising in healthier food options. There was a strong presence of birch water, and a number of stalls offering samples of their kale crisps. Nevertheless, Ben succumbed to the delicious Boozy Bacon Jam from Billy Franks. It was great to see the representatives from Cotswold Fayre, and spend some time catching up. We'd like to wish a massive congratulations to Hannan Meats, for winning the Amazing Golden Fork for their beef, and to Paxton & Whitfield in Stratford for winning Cheese Counter of the Year at the World Cheese Awards. All the best to them in the future!
