UK BBQ Week has been established by gourmet grilling enthusiasts to promote the humble British BBQ.
Their aim is to encourage everyone to pick up the tongs and cook up some amazing British BBQ food for their families and friends. The great British summer is upon us, and it's time for us to take our dinners alfresco with UK BBQ WEEK! Sadly the British BBQ doesn't have the greatest reputation; we often associate it with incinerated supermarket bangers that are still pink in the middle and waiting hours for the lager-fuelled cooking crew to finally get a plate of uninspiring burgers on the table. But it doesn't have to be this way. There is so much more to the BBQ, and that's why we've joined forces with some of the UK's finest BBQ enthusiasts to celebrate UK BBQ Week this summer.
UK BBQ WEEK 4 - 12th July
Running 4-12 July 2020, UK BBQ Week celebrates everything great about the grill. We'll be bringing you resources, tips and recipes to ensure that you get the most out of your BBQ - not just this summer, but all year round! We hope to inspire people to look at their grill in a whole new way and really get to grips with cooking outdoors.
Great barbecue food
When we talk about great barbecue food, we often think of the world famous BBQ pits of the southern USA. Sweet, smoky, spicy meats cooked for hours to create meltingly delicious meals. It's a real art form and people will travel miles to indulge themselves at their favourite BBQ joint. With excellent traditional Southern BBQ chains making their way onto the British high street, more people have become interested in replicating their favourite flavours at home.
During UK BBQ Week, we aim to celebrate BBQ traditions from around the world and bring you a cornucopia of recipes from all over the world that you can make on your home grill. We've got old favourites like American ribs and lip-smackingly succulent hot dogs, don't worry!
If you fancy mixing it up a little, why not travel to India and rustle up tandoori grilled fish or some spicy tandoori chicken that'll make you forget your local takeaway? Spanish paella, Jamaican jerk chicken and Greek souvlaki can also easily become a part of your barbecue repertoire! UK BBQ Week is about far more than just meat.
Veggie and Vegan-friendly BBQ
We've curated a special selection of veggie and vegan-friendly recipes so that everyone can enjoy the party, and even thrown in a selection of mouth-watering desserts.
